My overall reaction to Antwone Fischer was that the deep message it had to show people really did its job. It made the viewer really feel what Antwone was feeling. The film brought us back to our own moments of insecurity and doubt. If we look closely enough and really see what Antwone is going through, we may be able to see that we are a little like him. This may be misunderstood as saying that we may have had the same experiences that he did when we really didn't, but what is meant by the statement is that like him we are struggling with inner demons. So what we learn from this movie is that we have to face those demons if we are ever able to move own with our lives and search for the greater part of ourselves.
Three lessons I learned from watching the film is:
1. That life is never easy no matter who you are. Every individual has there own obstacles to jump over and find a way to a better self that in the end will bring about a more joyous world for ourselves. This is what Antwone himself has to do, having to get past his former life to really find who he is to move on in the end after his struggle is over. Like Mother Theresa said, it is usually the case that the richer people may have more problems than the poor people.
2. That we should not go through these dark times by ourselves. Antwone has Denzel Washington's character there to comfort him and to get him through the rough times. Like Antwone, we always have someone willing to listen. Whether that one who will listen is a friend of ours, a parent, or even our Heavenly Father.
3. We should always to unto others as we would want done unto us. This is a basic human right that is violated by Antwone's foster family. We see how badly he is treated and how he has to put up with being discriminated against people that he should be able to put his trust in. If we are ever in a situation like that, or blind to ourselves even doing it, we should immediately try to fix our life and bring ourselves into a better world.
Antwone Fischer relates to a song of lament in how it brings anger, vengeance, and more horrible feelings to God in the beginning. It brings out the full human nature of the person and what he has gone through. It's a movie that really asks where God is, but also answers that ny showing us that God really never abandoned Antwone and gave him a better life in the end. This leads to preaise of God, like how most songs of lament end. A psalm this movie relates to is:
Psalm 89: 46-52
Lord will you hide yourself forever? How long will your Anger burn like fire? Remember how short my life is: remember that you created all of us mortal! Who can live and never die? How can man keep himself from the grave?
Lord, where are the former proofs of your love? Where are the promises you made to David? Don't forget how I, your servant, am insulted, how I endure all the curses of the heathen. Your enemies insult your chosen king, O Lord! They insult him whereever he goes.
Praise the Lord forever!
Amen! Amen!

1. My overall reaction to this flim was very intersisting. How a young african american can over come such a treible childhood. And to become a better man than he was before.
2. Three lesson that i have learned is forgiveness, trust, patience. To forgive others even though they did wrong and move on. Trust others and they will help you out. Patience instead of letting my fist do the talking.
3. I think it is a praise pslam. Why because Antwone Fisher overcame all of his problems and learned to forgive the people that hurt him. So bascially you rejoice for this young gentlemen for become more christain. It relates to psalm 25:1 why because God let Antwone work out his problems and did not let the wicked get a hold of him.

I my overall reaction to the movie was pretty good. It had a good story line. The actors were good. It really showed the conflicts between each character. But in a way you feel like you were their witnessing this happening right in front of you . Some parts in the movie were sort of weird. For Example: when the one foster parent was trying to sex with Antwone Fisher it was a little disturbing. The one part of the movie I liked was when Antwone stood up to his old foster parents.
There was a few lessons in this movie. When Antwone had to over come the conflicts from his past. That's a lesson we can learn from because everyone has a conflict from their past. You can never run away from it, you have to face it and over come the problem. Another lesson is trusting someone. If you someone you can trust and you have problem you got to tell them. If you bottle it up the problem will take over you. A third lesson is appreciation for the people around you. The people who care about you, keep them close. But if you don't show any affection at all they will slowly drift away. then it will end up you will become lonely.
Psalm 52: 1-7
Save me, O God, by your name, and vindicate me by your might. Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth. For the insolent have risen against me, the ruthless seek my life; they do not set God before them. But surely, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life. He will repay my enemies for their evil. In your faithfulness, put an end to them. With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you; I will give thanks to your name, O lord, for it's good. For he has delivered me from every trouble, and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies. This relates to Antwone by the evil he has to overcome.
(In whispers: " Brother Peach, you are my best friend.")

Overall, I didn't enjoy the film as much as the previous Into the Wild, but it still carried a pretty powerful message in its storyline. Antwone grew up in an abusive home and was forced to into doing sexual acts as a young child. This led him into a fear of becoming close with a woman due to all of the internal damage he had suffered when he was young. It was the coming of age of Antwone and the closure he was able to receive that led him to overcome his problems in the end.
I learned that should stand up for what is right when we are being oppressed by a force greater than ourselves, coming with that the value of courage. Another lesson is that we can always accept help from others, no matter how deep in problems we may feel that we are. Finally, I learned that controlling anger and hatred into a more positive force is necessary to live out good lives when faced with the challenges of others.
I believe this movie relates to a psalm of lament, because Antwone is very troubled by his childhood and wishes to lament for it. His household guardians betrayed him, as well as his close friend, so I think this can relate to Psalm 55, a Lament over Betrayal. This line, "I would soon find a shelter from the raging wind and storm."can relate to how Antwone ran away from home to try and start a new life in the Navy. In conclusion, he eventually finds closure and his problems all resolve themselves in the end.

1. I enjoyed this movie very much. It portrayed to the audience depth, trust, and abuse at its worst. It also showed how Antwone got past this abuse and how he managed to continue on to be the man that he was. It gives a true life lesson of standing up to violence and not running from it but facing it head on.
2. Three lessons that I derived from the film:
I believe that the movie showed the horrors of racsism and how it can influenece a persons being. This is an act of wrong and should be stood up to with confidence.
Confidence was another important theme in this movie. You should break out of a shell, a preconceived idea that is restraining you holding you back. We are sometimes blinded by truth and I feel that truth should not blind us but set us free as it does in the movie when Antwone finds the courage to find his family. This shows another theme: perserverance. Antwone stays up late through the night searching for his identity the one thing that can save him from his past and the Tates.
3. I feel that the movie Antwone Fisher relates to a psalm of thanksgiving and praise.
Psalm 83:18
"Show them you alone are the LORD, the Most High over all the earth."
This shows that we see the wonders of God around us every day. Antwone realizes how lucky he is when he finds Denzel Washington in the movie along with his birth parents. He is grateful for gods workings in his life and expresses that gratitude through his action.
